Habitat: Fine if smallish stand of upland hardwoods on relatively deep soil (Miami Silt Loam). Acer saccharum dominant-Fagus grandifolia subdominant, with Tilia americana, also Ostrya virigniana, Prunus serotina, and in one wetter area, Tsuga canadensis.
