Habitat: Extensive Thuja woods, more or less dense shade with Tsuga canadensis, Abies balsamea, Picea glauca, Acer spicatum, Rubus parviflorus, Actaea rubra, Carex pedunculata, Ledum groenlandicum, Vaccinium Oxycoccus (rare), Dentaria diphylla, Martensia paniculata. Wet open sedge medows, springs and streamsides, seepage bog in Thuja woods. With mertensia paniculata, Carex flava flava, C. leptalea, C. auea, C. stipata, C. interior, Equisetum scripoides, E. arvense boreale, E. sylvaticum, Shrysosplenium amercanum, Ribes lacustre, Smilacina trifolia, Stellaria calycantha isophylla, Rhamnus slnifolius, Caltha palustris, Veronica americana, Chelone glabra, Habernaria spp., etc.
