Latitude/Longitude was derived from the Township, Range, Section location. This causes an imprecision.
Habitat:
Shrubby transition zone between sedge-shrub marsh and bur oak-black oak savannah, with Populus tremuloides, Cornus stolonifera, Phalaris arundinacea, Pycnanthemum virginianum, and Solidago canadensis. This species is generally considered to be non-native in Wisconsin, although it is rarely encountered in thickets and disturbed woods in the southern two tiers of counties. It is sometimes cultivated, and our few collections may represent escapes or long-persistent planted shrubs rather than natural populations. Its occurrence in Wisconsin was reported by Musselman et al. (Mich. Bot. 10:187.1971). The next Wisconsin mention was by Salamun (Trans. Wis. Acad.67:110. 1979), who did not accept it as belonging on list..[see label] Sheet 1 of 2.
