Habitat: Southern dry-mesic forest (Acer rubrum- 1 dominant, Quercus borealis- 2 dominant, Acet saccharum- 3 dominant); associated for the abundant Viburnum acerif.: Botrychium virginianum, Desmodium glutinosum, Amphicarpa bracteata, Osmorhiza claytonii, Circaea quadrisulcata, Carya cordiformis seedlings.
