Habitat: Dry prairie on N-S-trending elongate hill of unconsolidated glacial drift (drumlin); W-facing side a ways below crest; open stony soil. Fairly degraded, basically a grassy field, with Schizachyrium scoparium (dominant), Poa compressa (subdominant), Bromus inermis, Panicum oligosanthes var.scribnerianum, Carex meadii, Arenaria stricta ssp. stricta, Geum triflorum var. triflorum, Spiraea alba, Gentiana puberulenta, Asclepias verticillata, and Solidago missouriensis. Locally frequent.
