Habitat: Part of gorgeous, undisturbed 13-acre fen. Tiny creek-bottom dotted with small, shallow, marl-bottom pools and Larix laricina trees; Carex stricta dominant, Calamagrostis canadensis subdominant, with Muhlenbergia glomerata, Bromus ciliatus, Thelypteris palustris, Salix bebbiana, Cornus stolonifera, Rhamnus frangula, Rubus pubescens, Lathyrus palustris, Epilobium coloratum, Angelica atropurpurea, Lycopus uniflorus, Aster lateriflorus, Eupatorium maculatum, Solidago gigantea. Edges of marl pools, w/ Carex sterilis, Eleocharis erythropoda, Triglochin palustris, Juncus brachycephalus, Parnassia glauca, Lysimachia quadriflora. Mid-morning soil temperature : 11.5 C at both 20 cm and 1 m deep.
