Habitat:
Part of gorgeous, undisturbed 13-acre fen. Tiny creek-bottom dotted with small, shallow, marl-bottom pools and Larix laricina trees; Carex stricta dominant, Calamagrostis canadensis subdominant, with Muhlenbergia glomerata, Bromus ciliatus, Thelypteris palustris, Salix bebbiana, Cornus stolonifera, Rhamnus frangula, Rubus pubescens, Lathyrus palustris, Epilobium coloratum, Angelica atropurpurea, Lycopus uniflorus, Aster lateriflorus, Eupatorium maculatum, Solidago gigantea. Trailing from hummock to hummock; widely distributed in fen but not in marl pools nor Typha colonies. Soil temperature on morning of visit: 11.5 C at both 20 cm and 1 m deep. Sheet 2 of 2.
