Habitat: Part of gorgeous, undisturbed 13-acre fen. Tiny creek-bottom dotted with small, shallow, marl-bottom pools; Carex stricta dominant, Calamagrostis canadensis subdominant, with Muhlenbergia glomerata, Bromus ciliatus, Thelypteris palustris, Salix bebbiana, Cornus stolonifera, Rhamnus frangula, Rubus pubescens, Lathyrus palustris, Epilobium coloratum, Angelica atropurpurea, Lycopus uniflorus, Aster lateriflorus, Eupatorium maculatum, Solidago gigantea. On edges of pools in marl slurry, w/ Carex sterilis, Scirpus acutus X S. tabernaemontani, Juncus brachycephalus, Parnassia glauca, and Lobelia kalmii. Mid-morning soil temperature : 11.5 C at both 20 cm and 1 m deep.
