Habitat:
Rich Acer saccharum, Tilia, Quercus borealis woods with limestone cliffs and boulders. Very rich ungrazed on a moderate slope, with some Juglans nigra and Carya cordiformis near the bottom and Quercus borealis near the top. There is a 20ft high limestone cliff near the top of the slope and other outcrops and boulders also occur. Trees are in the 10-20" range, with the larger trees at the base of a cliff. Other associates include Aesculus glabra, Dirca palustris, Panax quinquifolia, Cacalia caroliniana, Trillium flexipes, Quercus alba, Cornus alternifolia, Sanicula trifoliata, Asarum canadense, Osmorhiza longistylis, Mitella thalictroides, Actaea rubra, A. pachypoda, Adiantum pedatum, Laportea canadensis, Circaea quadrisulcata, [See label] Sheet 1 of 2.
