Habitat: High, very rocky prairie dominated by Andropogon gerardii, with Allium stellatum, Sorghastrum nutans, Danthonia spicata, Polygonum tenue, Lespedeza capitata, Polygala sanguinea, Comandra umbellatam Oxalis violacea, Helianthemum bicknellii, Lechea intermedia, etc. 1 plant shaded by Prunus virginiana, with Apocynum androsaemifolium and Danthonia. Also with Quercus ellipsoidalis (rare), Rhus typhina, Prunus virginiana (rare), Oenothera parviflora, Campanula rotundifolia, Amorpha canescens, Coreopsis palmata, Aster azureus, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Solidago nemoralis var. longipetiolaris, Lactuca canadensis longifolia (rare), Liatris aspera (very common), Polytrichium.
