Large, multistemmed tree on moist, fairly rich soil. The dominant along this stream. Associates include sapling Ulmus americana and Acer negundo, Cornus rugosa, Rubus strigosus, Pharlaris arundinacea, and Dactylis glomerata. Most probably planted.
