Habitat: Wet mucky meadow-like opening in large white cedar swamp, sedges dominant (Carex stipata, Scirpus microcarpus, Eleocharis erythropoda), grasses subdominant (Gylyceria grandis, G. striata); traversed by snowmobile trail, from along which all collections came. Assoc.: Selaginella ecliptes, Equisetum arvense, Impatiens, Bidens, Polygonum amphibium, Aster puniceus, Carex bebbii, C. interior, C. flava var. flava, C. retrorsa, C. vulpinoidea, and Scirpus validus. One clump was 13.5 dm across, 64 cm tall, with 67 fertile culms and 22 sterile shoots. Sheet 1 of 2.
