Habitat: Dry-mesic prairie near base of moderately steep, N-facing slope. All within a 1-m-diam. circle: Poa compressa-dominant, Poa pratensis-subdominant, with Amorpha canescens, Anemone cylindrica, Cirsium discolor, Euphorbia corollata, Euthamia graminifolia, Helianthus pauciflorus, Heuchera richardsonii, Linaria vulgaris, Lithospermum canescens, Lobelia spicata-a sizable population, Melilotus sp., Panicum leibergii-much of this, Phleum pratense, Phlox pilosa, Sporobolus heterolepis, Stipa spartea, Valeriana edulis ssp. ciliata, Viola pedatifida. Soil: dark brown silt loam over silt loam and silty clay loam subsoils; mixed with stones. Formerly grazed, now being managed by TPE using brushing and prescribed burning.
