Open wet Carex stricta (southern sedge) meadow along stream, with Thelypteris palustris var. pubescens, Glyceria striata, C. stricta (dominant), C. prairea (abundant), C. sterilis (common), C. interior (frequent), Mentha canadensis (M. arvensis), Lathyrus palustris, Lycopus uniflorus, Galium labradoricum, Cirsium muticum, and Aster puniceus. Organic soil formed from sedge peat, underlain by silt or clay or marl, the habitat appearing calcareous though lying alongside hills of acidic loamy sands.
