Habitat: Wet, Carex-dominated E side of gorgeous (never plowed) wet-mesic prairie remnant. Assoc.: Carex buxbaumii, C. lanuginsoa, C. sartwellii, C. tenera, Hypoxis hirsuta, Salix petiolaris, Anemone canadensis, Saxifraga pensylvanica, Fragaria virginiana, Viola sp., Zizia aurea, Phlox pilosa var. fulgida, Galium obtusum var. ramosum, Cacalia tuberosa, Silphium terebinthinaceum. Soboliferous shrub 7-15 dm tall.
