Habitat: Extensive northern mesic hardwood forest on top of small bluff-like peninsula. Acer saccharum dominant, with Abies balsamea and Ostrya virginiana. Rich understory developed on Niagara dolomite bedrock fronting lake. N of picnic grounds. Open grassy edge of forest right at lake-front, with Thuja occidentalis, Populus tremuloides, Prunus virginiana, Cornus stolonifera, C. rugosa, C. alternifolia, Diervilla lonicera & Lonicera (tatarica or Xbella).
