Habitat:
Ostrya virginiana and Ulmus species woods associated with virgin beech-sugar maple woods with some Ulmus americana and Quercus rubra. A rich understory. The understory is much the same except that grasses and sedges are present here. Woods are located on a N slope on silt loam soil.
