Habitat: Extensive, diverse and open fen all along E shore (running for at least 1200ft.) of lake. Main wet meadow, Carex sterilis dominant, C. lasopcarpa subdom., with Thelypteris palustris var. pubescens, Parnassia glauca, & Potentilla fruticosa ssp. floribunda all abundant, & Equisetum arvense, E. fluiatile, Carex buxbaumii, C. leptalea, C. interior, Eleocharis erythropoda, E. compressa, E. pauciflora var. fernaldii, Eriophorum viridicarinatum, Liparis loeselii, Salix spp. (incl. S. candida, S. pedicellaris), Drosera rotundifolia, Pedicularis lanceolata, Hypericum kalmianum (rare),[see label]. Very rare (here, complex well represented in WI). Floricanes very low, erect, arising from horizontal older canes;fls. fragrant; petals wht. [R. setosus Bigel. complex] [EXCLUDED from WI flora - see Checklist of the Vascular Plants of Wisconsin [Wetter, et al. 2001]]
