Dry-mesic southern oak forest: Quercus alba-Q. velutina on rolling topography, w/ Prunus serotina, Carya ovata, Quercus macrocarpa, Ulmus rubra and Pyrus ioensis. Assoc.: Smilacina racemosa, Carex sparganioides, Geum canadense, Amphicarpa bracteata, Desmodium acuminatum, Geranium maculatum, Parthenocissus inserta, Vitis riparia, Osmorhiza claytonii, Prunella vulgaris ssp. lanceolata, Circaea canadensis, etc. Common; open spots in more mesic areas of woods. Primocanes mostly arched-spreading, few essentially erect, this one tallest seen - 29.7dm, 14mm dia.- base, 11mm dia. - midstem, simple. Floricane arched-spreading, lying atop shrubby vegetation, this one 41.5dm long, 13.5mm dia. -base, 10.5mm dia. -midstem, branched. Sheet 10 of 15[see label]
