Habitat: Dry open woods on sandy soil. With Quercus sp., Betula papyrifera. Plant solitary, not in large colonies. [Section Alleghenienses. Doubtless the terminal leaflets of the fruitcane would have cordate bases. AMF] Evidently a parcifrond.
