Habitat:
Northern mesic forest on undulating pockmarked ground along river. Acer saccharum dominant, with ample Betula papyrifera, some Tsuga canadensis, very little Pinus strobus. Assoc. with Rubus strigosus and Acer rubrum in a deeper depression, the surrounding understory a little depauperate but w/ Carex arcata, C. pedunculata, Oryzopsis asperifolia, Actaea rubra, Dirca palustris, Pyrola elliptica, and Diervilla lonicera.
