Habitat: Wet, completely open Cyperaceae-Sphagnum meadow, on deep peat underlain by sandy subsoil. Assoc.: Thelypteris palustris var. pubescens, Dryopteris cristata; rooted in Sphagnum palustre (det. R. Andrus). Canes trailing nearly their entire length, conspicuously tip-rooting; druplets very dark purple (note late-season ripening). Sheet 2 of 2.
