Habitat:
Outer edge of open Thuja-white birch woods, right where latter, on humus and loamy sand, meets bare dolomite beach cobble. Narrow, scrubby and low (wind damaged) shrub zone dominated by Amelanchier huronensis, with Shepherdia canadensis, Prunus virginiana. Very common, trailing on the cobble, reaching at most 3ft. in height.
