Habitat:
Moist to wet sunny shores of lake, a shallow alkaline seepage lake with a somewhat unique plant association that includes Atlantic Coastal Plain species. More or less dry sand in upper edge of transition zone between lake shore and thin oak woods. A.ssoc.: Poa compressa, Carex umbelatta (C. rugosperma), Juncus greenei, Polygonum tenue, Polygonella articulata, Hudsonia tomentosa, Helianthemum canadense, Solidago graminifolia, dried terrestrial mosses, and Aster dumosus var. strictior.
