Habitat:
NW-facing crest of shallow-soiled ridge. In muddy clay bottom of slope rather than top. Old blue-grass pasture with dogwood and black cherry saplings and Bromus inermis, Asclepias syriaca, A. verticillata, Rosa multiflora, Hypericum perforatum, and Hieracium aurantiacum (the latter already in fruiting). Two colonies, this plant from one 1 m. long with 80 stems.
