Latitude/Longitude was derived from the Township, Range, Section location. This causes an imprecision.
On S facing, heavily pastured slope with a few scattered Q. macrocarpa, Ulmus, Acer negundo, Prunus serotina. Tree 14m tall, 45cm diam., with many dead branches through lower canopy but tree still vigourous. Only one of this sp. Shade leaves only; sun leaves are more deeply lobed. [Acorn caps are glabrous to sparsely pubescent on the inner surface, and buds far too glabrous for Q. velutina. There is likely some introgression from Q. velutina, but this specimen is much nearer Q. ellipsoidalis than Q. velutina. - A.L. Hipp, 2007]
