[Large fruited forms have been coll. at (Nr. Green Bay - Brown Co. F376881 -(Field Museum)) (N of Transition Zone or near border.)] [Terminal bud 4.75 mm long, silky-pubescent on distal 0.5. Acorn cap scale bodies tuberculate, and acorn shape is reminiscent of problematic individuals in the southern and eastern portions of Chicago region.
