Habitat:
One of seven or eight pockets (openings) of wet-mesic prairie embedded in moist thickets; tussocky almost like the southern sedge meadow, but the tussocks are Sporobolus heterolepis, not Carex; immediate assoc. for 13971, 13972, 13973: Juncus nodosus, Spiranthes cernua, S. magnicamporum, Geum triflorum, Zizia aptera, Cornus stolonifera seedlings, Pentaphylloides floribunda, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Galium boreale, Aster oolentangiensis, A. pilosus var. pringlei, Ratibida pinnata, Solidago riddellii. Median zone of lip creamy yellow.
