Habitat: Ditch, mucky in bottom, through very disturbed grassy area in northern mesic forest (Acer saccharum dominant, w/ Abies balsamea & Betula papyrifera). Very disturbed grassy zone neat top edge of ditch, with Fragaria virginiana, Polygonum cilinode and. Chrysanthemum leucanthemum in red clay. Assoc.: Carex crinita var. gynandra, Scirpus cyperinus, Juncus effusus, Barbarea vulgaris, Rubus idaeus ssp. strigosus, Impatiens biflora. Fls. mostly dark pink, keel violet.
