Habitat:
City park, the lawn with mostly large Acer saccharum, with apperance of natural woods which has been opnened up for a park, with a few large Quercus macrocarpa and Acer accharinum and scattered newer plantings.
Occurrence Remarks:
The Acer accharum differ greatly from tree to tree in bark characteristics, ranging from regularly and longitudinally furrowed and tight, to scaly to almost platy. Large tree 70 cm. in diameter; bark coarsely furrowed to platy. Fruit with seed portion green and wings dried and tan.
