United States, Wisconsin, Dane, Madison. On Marshall Pky, just S of Corvall St., just S of Lake Wingra, UW Arboretum.
Habitat:
Behind corner of house next to swimming pool. Tall tree , dbh 3dm. with very shaggy bark; relatively few fruits, with thick husks, nearly all nuts eaten by squirrels. Outside of husks smooth with little or no groove down center of each quarter. Lvs. dark green; fr. bright grass green.
