Habitat: In Rhus radicans - Carex marsh. Wet peaty soil on sand base. Local. Coarse perennial, to 3ft. tall. Leaves with tapering tip, very crennate. Glabrous with a scabrous feel above. Flowers in a corymb, mostly terminal with a few axillary clusters. Phyllaries blunt and pale grey-green, ray florets fading purple.
