Habitat: Northern mesic forest (Acer saccharum dominant, with A. spicatum, Tilia americana, Ostrya virginiana, Ulmus americana) along hiking trail. Along edges of trail in moist shady woods; assoc. with Poa annua, both the Poa and Juncus common.
