Habitat:
Heavily grazed pasture along river. With Ulmus americana, Quercus macrocarpa, Fraxinus. tree 12m tall, 50cm dbh. This is the largest tree here; numerous saplings & small trees. Thorns from trunk 2m from ground, now producing new thorns. Saplings in area very thorny. Not sure if these trees "native" but def. are along river w/ hist. records.
