Habitat: Extensive 3rd-growth mesic northern forest (sugar maple) with Dryopteris spinulosa intermedia, Brachyeletrum erectum septentrionlae, Allium tricoccum, Clintonia borealis, Uvularia sessilifolia, Dirca palustris, Mitchella repens, Aster lateriforus, A. macrophyllus, Solidago flexicaulis, and Carex intumescens.
Occurrence Remarks: Locally abundant, carpeting an area like an Erythronium clone.
