Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Waupaca, SW shore Newsome Lake, 0.4 mi due E of Co. Hwy. K between Lake Crystal and Radley Roads, 7 mi SSW of Waupaca.

Habitat: Marshy lake shore, the water 4 ft. low according to informant, due to consecutive seasons of drought, the normal shoreline marked by a line of Carex stricta tussocks, the exposed bed a very gentle slope that is mucky in some places (and dominated by. Leersia oryzoides colonies or invaded by millions of sedge, rush, grass, and mint seedlings), sandy in others. Drying, slightly mucky sand in beaver channels, difficult to spot among the grasses and sedges, with Leersia, Dulichium, Polygonum amphibium, Populus tremuloides seedlings, Veberna hastata, Eupatorium perfoliatum. Rare.
