Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Grant, 2 mi NE of Dubuque, Iowa.

Habitat: Very steep W-facing slope of river valley bluff, with limestone outcroppings. Much grown up with brush and small trees. Rhus glabra, Celastrus scandens, Ulmus rubra, Juniperus virginiana, Quercus macrocarpa, Fraxinus pensylvanica,. Once undoubtedly all prairie and still with a rich flora including Onosmodium, Desmodium illinoense, Silphium lanceolatum, Coreopsis palmata, Amorpha canescens, Helianthus occidentalis, Potentilla arguta. BER. Shrub to 2 m tall, occasional. Fruit green or reddish.
