Habitat: Edge of clearing in upland oak woods (Quercus alba-1 dom. in terms of frequency, Carya ovata-2dom., Acer rubrum-3dom., Populus grandidentata-4dom., Ulmus americana-5dom.). Clearing resulted from recent selective removal of aspen trees.. Assoc.: Amphicarpaea bracteata, Anthyrium angustum, Cryptotaenia canadensis, Elymus villosus, Eupatorium purpureum, Helianthus strumosus, Latuca sp., and Solidago flexicaulis, Silt loam soil. Very rare; a single clump of 7 stems. Sheet 1 of 2.
