Habitat:
Abundant, choking the cool, clear water of spring. This edible species has been introduced successfully into a large percentage of the many springs in the county. Semi-aquatic herb, the foliage with a sharp taste. "Water cress". Pistil and filaments first greenish, then turning purple. Immature fruit purple, soon turning green.
