In exposed mineral soil with mosses, lichens, Corydalis sempervirens, Bulbostylis capillaris. Also has Lespedeza violacea, L. virginica,. Eupatorium sessilifolium, Rhus copallina. BER. 25 plants in a 1 x 2 m patch. in Fruit.
