Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Bayfield, Port Wing. Just S of Bibon Lake ca. 0.5 mi W of "downtown" Port Wing.

Habitat: Intact, older growth tamarack swamp with very wet sphagnous understory and excellent herb diversity. Most clones in SE end of swamp. Among fairly dense tag alders. BER1995. 8 scattered clones, each with 10-60 stems each 0.4-1 m tall, only a few with flowers, none with fruits later in the year. In very wet mucky soil. Deer browsing is a serious problem. 1st WIS record in 97 years.
