Habitat: Gorgeous, extensive wet fen on deep marl with marginal shrub swamps adjoining lake on all sides. In narrow, relatively dry zone between lakeshore wet marsh and gravel fill of old, never-completed railroad. Associates: Triglochin palustris, Sphenopholis intermedia, Scirpus americanus, Rhynchospora capillacea, Carex hystericina, Salix discolor, S. candida, Potentilla fruticosa, Epilobium sp. (abundant), Campanula aparinoides, Lobelia kakmii, Eupatorium perfoliatum, Solidago ohioensis.
