Wet, mossy (luxuriantly so) and boggy, old borrow pits either side, with Abies balsamea and Pinus strobus seedlings, Drosera rotundifolia, Gaultheria hispidula, Ledum groenlandicum, Vaccinium angustifolium, V. oxycoccus.
