Habitat: Wet sunny shore of shallow drying-up seepage lake (alkaline?). Mucky marshy boglike shore with Leersia oryzoides, Psilocarya scirpoides, Eleocharis olivacea (forming floating mats), Dulichium arundinaceum, Scirpus smithii, Pontederia cordata,. Nymphaea odorata, Utricularia gibba, U. vulgaris, Bidens cernua. Near shore aquatics, free-floating or rooted in peaty slurpy muck of bottom or floating mats.
