Habitat: Abandoned railroad r.o.w., grassy but becoming much overgrown by saplings of Ulmus americana, U. rubra, Quercus macrocarpa, Q. velutina, Prunus serotina. Mostly weedy with Poa, Bromus inermis, Agropyron repens, etc., but with a few prairie plants such as Andropogon gerardii, Sorghastrum nutans, Silphium terebinthinaceum, Silphium integrifolium.
