Habitat: wet ground. Stem hairy, 3ft high. Erect, leaves lanceolate, tapering at both ends, connate, somewhat regularly serrate. Upper leaves with minute apressed with outer involucres mostly shorter than the golden yellow (0.5-0.75in. long) rays, achenia wedge shaped with prickley downwardly barbed margins as well as arrows. This plant is not described in Grey's Manual but is near to B. Chrysanthemordes. Fl. yellow
