Habitat: Dry rocky bluff prairie on S- & SW-facing hilltops. Little disturbed & with excellent diversity. Other species: Rocky dry prairie on S-facing hilltops, with Andropogon scoparius, A. gerardii, Sporobolus heterolepis, Bouteloua hirsuta, B. curtipendula,. Carex eburnea, Petalostemum candidum, P. purpureum, Muhlenbergia racemosa, M. cuspidata, Liatris cylindracea, L. aspera, Aster oblongifolius, A. ericoides, A. azureus, A. sericeus, Celastrus scandens, Euphorbia corolatta, Amorpha canescens, Prunus pumila Kuhnia eupatorioides, Coreopsis palmata, Linum sulcatum, Artemisia caudata, Solidago nemoralis, Oxybaphus hirsutus, Asclepias viridiflora, and on rock outcrops Pellaea glabella & Campanula rotundifolia.
