Habitat:
Growing along side of road next to drainage ditch, with Typha latifolia, Potentilla palustris and Calamagrostis canadensis. The aquatic Ranunculus gmelini also occurs at this site in stagnant water pools amidst stands of this sedge. One sterile individual with 5 leaves (the ones not collected were larger); leaves whitened with arachnoid hairs.
