Habitat: [unusual leaf form suggestive, but stems are nearly glabrous, & rameal leaves & phyllaries lack any trace of shape, dimension, or pubescence characters of. S. laciniatum.-TSC] Hybrid leaves and clearly intermediate between 2 putative parents, in bud, bud preserved in FAA, buds fixed for chromosome counts, flowering stalk ~2 m. tall.
