Plants 5-6.5dm high, stems stout, pubescent-viscid, densely clothed with leaves. Leaves very numerous, small, lanceolate 4.3-5.2cm long, 0.9-1.2cm wide, widest usually at base. Leaves clasping, auriculate. Leaves on lower portion of plant die and turn brown but remain attached to stems. Plant branched. Plant becomes corymbose at top. Flowers nuerous, involuce pubescent, viscid. Bracts mainly. Sheet 1 of 2.
